Step 6 Special Attention / Important Notes
1. Campervan Bedding & Equipment 🏕️
- Campervan bedding and equipment are standard and fixed.
- If you have personal comfort preferences, we recommend bringing your own bedding or heating/cooling items.
- This service focuses on an authentic, nature-based campervan experience and is not suitable for perfectionists or those expecting highly customized equipment.
- For higher or special requirements, please choose a service that better fits your needs.
2. Charging & Battery Usage 🔋
- Keep the external battery ON at all times; vehicle charges it while driving.
- Driving charge is slower than dedicated chargers; plug into campsite power every 1–3 days.
- If battery drains due to personal usage, AC or other equipment may not work; you are responsible.
- AC usage: full battery + 27–28°C + fan ≈ 8 hours. Driving 5–6 hrs recovers ~4% per hour, adding ~3–4 hrs AC.
3. Vehicle Height Advisory ⚠️
- Vehicle height (including side awning): 210 cm.
- Pay attention to height restrictions in underpasses and parking structures.
- Guests taller than 190 cm (6’3”) may find cabin tight; contact us before booking to confirm comfort.

- 300 km per 24 hours.
- Exceeding 300 km → NT$8/km maintenance fee.

✔ A valid Taiwanese driver’s license
✔ A valid International Driving Permit (IDP) with your original license Both are accepted for legally driving our camper vans.
Need help checking your documents? We’ll gladly review them for you.
What is car excess insurance? What type of insurance do I need to purchase?
Our basic vehicle insurance is already included in the rental fee, so you do not need to purchase another full vehicle insurance policy.
The included insurance covers:
- Third-party bodily injury and property damage
- Passenger injury insurance
- Excess liability insurance
- Roadside assistance
- Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
The CDW deductible is NTD 20,000.
Please note that CDW does not cover:
- Total loss
- Theft
- Damage caused by negligence
- Damage to the camper’s interior equipment
The theft deductible is NTD 27,000.
Before your rental begins, you will need to arrange separate car excess insurance to cover the CDW deductible of NTD 20,000. This insurance can usually be purchased through your travel insurance, credit card insurance, or a third-party car excess insurance provider.
In other words, you are looking for car rental excess/deductible insurance, rather than another standard car insurance policy.

Trip Planning Recommendations
To help you make the most of your camper van journey in Taiwan, we recommend having a general idea of the areas, attractions, or travel experiences you would like to explore before making a reservation.
As every traveler has different interests, budgets, travel styles, and comfort preferences, Camper Road Taiwan is not a travel agency or tour guiding service and does not provide fully customized travel itineraries.
Once you have a basic travel plan, we are happy to provide route suggestions, campsite recommendations, local travel tips, and booking assistance to help make your Taiwan road trip smoother and more enjoyable.
Our role is to share local knowledge and camper van travel advice, not to plan the entire trip on behalf of travelers.
